June's Journey: Battle against Cancer

Unfortunately, June was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer in February this year. In the last few months, the Cancer has rapidly spread to her bones, skull, and spinal fluid. We were initially told by Doctors that we have 6 months with her, but due to the aggressiveness of the Cancer, we aren't too sure how long we have.

June is a loving, caring, selfless mother, wife and nana. Throughout this journey, she has remained positive, strong, and determined to not let Cancer get the better of her. It has been hard on our whanau and friends but seeing how June has been dealing with this, being so brave and spreading so much love and joy, really shows how remarkable she is and helps us get through it as well.

I am so proud to call June my mum. She is one of a kind and is loved by so many. I have always known her to be a strong, independent, funny, charismatic woman and seeing her fight this battle and with such a positive attitude, just makes me admire her so much more. My whanau and I are so very lucky to have her in our lives.

June has a small bucket list and one of those things is going up the Sky Tower, as she has never been. We are wanting to raise funds for ticking off her bucket list, no matter how big or small they are. We would also like to raise funds for funeral costs, as these things can be quite costly.
