I have been diagnosed with Charcot Marie Tooth Disease which affects muscles in my arms and legs eventually ill end up in a wheelchair.

Auckland

Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease (CMT) is a genetically and clinically heterogeneous group of inherited disorders of the peripheral nervous system characterised by progressive loss of muscle

My name is Raymond I'm 37 years old and I was diagnosed with CMT about 5 years ago and have since had to stop working. If I have another fall I could end up in a wheelchair so I became a liability to my employer and had to give up what I loved doing.

This disease also causes fatigue, I also have sleep apnea which is a double dose which means im tired all the time with little to no energy I spend a lot of time lying down because of this.

My wife and I had our son Zac who is now 4 years old and we have just been blessed with another son Mason who is only 6 weeks old.

My wife has gone on maternity leave and this has put a huge strain on us as the money we get goes to bills and there's nothing left for food. We are majorly struggling and my wife is starting to stress which is affecting her breastfeeding. She ended up back in hospital with Mason as he lost to much weight.

We live in a 3 bedroom house with 6 people, our family of 4 and my in laws. Totally over crowded with no space to move. We desperately need our own place as this house is not good for our health its full of mould, bugs and has no installation what so ever and it doesn't suit our needs.

My wife doesn't know I'm on here creating this page but I would love to be able to surprise her with enough money to take the stress off her, she does a lot for our family and im extremely great full and thankful to have her by my side.

My parents live in New Plymouth and we cant afford to go down there to see them so they still have not yet meet their grandson Mason. It would be the best thing to be able to travel down there for Christmas this year.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
