I am looking for funding to assist with printing costs for the books. The books will be printed at the Rimutaka prison print shop

Wellington

"Just Call me Ma'am. and a Simple Curtsy will Do", is my fourth book. My books are not literary masterpieces, but short, illustrated, humorous books written for people facing health challenges and / or chronic illness. I am a former Registered Nurse, whom 6 years ago, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I believe in the power of humour to help overcome challenges in life. "Just Call me Ma'am. and a Simple Curtsy will Do" is about taking control of your own health. With the text and each illustration, the humour is directed to my experiences so as not to create offence to others. The books I have written in the past have really come to life with the cartoon like illustrations by the artist, Janet Atkinson. I will be repeating the same style in this latest book

As with my previous book "Does My Bum look Big with this stick ?" , it is my aim to distribute free copies of the book to people with chronic and activity limiting illnesses through Fieldworkers and Community Advisors working with, and supporting them. I hope to give a smile, to people whom often are in need of one. The number of free copies I am able to distribute will be dependent on the amount of money I raise

Shona Daubé's involvement (page creator)

I write the book based on my own experiences, and then work firstly with Janet doing the illustrations and then secondly with the team at the Rimutaka Prison shop whom design the layout and the look of the book, and then print the final copies of the book

Use of funds

With every $363 raised, I am able to print 100 books to be given away through organisations providing advice and support to people with a chronic illnesses
