Max’s family came home on Friday the 23rd of June to find Max dead on their front lawn, they rushed him to the vet where it was discovered Max had been shot in the chest. Max was on his own fully fenced, fully contained property.
Max’s family are devastated and can’t understand why someone would do such a cruel heartless act, Max loved everyone and he didn’t have a mean bone in his body. He was only 18 months old and was a beloved family member.
Max would have trusted his killer and would have just wanted to play and be patted. His family had him since he was 5 weeks old, until 23/6/2017. Max loved hunting with his dad and his most favourite thing in the world was swimming, Max did not deserve to be killed.
Furever Homes supports positive animal welfare in all respects. This family needs support and this sort of tragedy can not be allowed to go without every effort to bring the killers to justice being made.
Our mission is to re-home dogs, cats and the occasional horse that need a second chance, into loving homes, where they can live the rest of their lives in a safe, caring environment.
Furever homes is a registered charity.
Charity registration number CC50424.
Despite being based in Invercargill we operate nationwide, working with many councils throughout New Zealand to get the best outcome for the animal.
Volunteers are responsible for running Furever Homes where a lot of the time expenses are paid for directly from their own pockets along with the great assistance provided by supporters.
There has been many dogs & cats rescued, rehomed and saved from destruction by Furever Homes with great foster carers taking them on until homes are found.
Along with this there has been a great number of lost or found pets returned home through the very large following Furever Homes has gained.
This page is set up to raise funds to help find Max’s killer by putting up a reward for information, also to help his mum and dad pay for his autopsy and cremation. They have a baby on the way and are short on funds and if we can all make things a little less stressful we will try. Please help give-a-little in Max’s memory.
