Please help our Beau the Goat with her dog attack injuries

  • Thanks mum !

      19 August 2020

So guys my mum Catherine has stepped in to save the day! Ensuring beau receives her donations my mum has kindly verified herself and become the payee.yiu might see a few name changes on the pages as She will now be listed as the donor. !

Thanks again to all the support we have received ! Beau can’t wait for her snag proof house! And has been so grateful for her vet visits, although we’re totally aware she hates the vets! she had her second lot of stitches out Monday and the vets have concluded that when she rips or tears her ear again (it’s become inevitable) we will be removing the damaged section up to about 3cm away from the base! She will be a mini ear wearing beauty hehe

Hi all, for those who aren’t aware , beau ripped her scar line apart yesterday, we had an appointment at the vets so we took her in and they’ve stitched it back together as it obviously didn’t heal very well. The photo below is her ear as of 11am today and because she’s had this next accident, she’s now added a couple more weeks onto her recovery time , although it will be an ongoing battle for some months as we try to avoid infection, dieback and another accident like yesterday.

So beau now needs a new home as her one is just not dry enough and not snag proof for her holy ear, so we shall be building her a new and improved shelter with all new flooring and insulation, covered in walls, built in bed and platform for her to lax on etc. we can’t wait ! It couldn’t be made possible without your help ! So thank you again and again to all you beautiful humans xx

  • Feeling a bit better

Well guys firstly I would like to start off by saying thank you.

    Thank You so so much!

Every dollar that has been donated has come from the kindest and most genuine place in your hearts and it has filled ours with strength and love that pushes us through each hour, minute &second. We have been on edge the last few days as our minds are occupied with worry and unknowing but you have gifted beau the funds to ensure all concerns can be seen to! We never imagined our beautiful lovely beau could have touched the hearts of so many of you. It’s a very overwhelming feeling to receive such grace!

When we first found beau at 10 days old, we never could have dreamed how inseparable we would be. And very quickly too! If this has shown us anything it has been just how important beau really truly is to our Family and just how many good people there are in this world xoxoxo

Now to update on Beaauuuuu 😊😀

Well today she is doing well! She is eating grass YAAAAY ! We even ventured into her kennel for a bit and ate some hay and chilled out in there (we took this pic) . We continue to give her metacam for inflammation and intracillin for infection. She doesn’t like medicine time as we administer her injections ourselves. But it’s no secret between us all that we don’t much like giving them to her either. It’s different to treating a patient at work rather than our own sweet beau.

We are hoping tomorrow’s vet appointment brings good news to all so I will be sure to update again around 4 pm tomorrow ! Thank you everyone for your unbelievable love and support!

    Bless you all

    Love from

Beau , Michael and Phebe xoxoxo

So after our vet appointment today to have the ear removed , we discovered that the area previously believed to be dead actually bled when pricked! This is a good sign as it shows blood flow to the affected site and surrounding areas. We have updated her medication and gotten a course of anti inflammatory pain relief for her to stop her feeling so glum and to try get her eating. All n all we are giving it until Wednesday so that IF It can be saved , we will! But Wednesday WILL BE d day

Well I am heartbroken writing this update, we have been doing everything we can to keep beau warm and dry and comfortable but unfortunately we haven’t been able to save her ear.

Today I had taken beau back to the vets as I was concerned about her ear being droopy and cold, her vet tried to test the ear to see any signs of improvement but to no avail.

At 4pm on Monday 13th July 2020 (today) beau will be admitted to have her dead ear removed.

She will never be the same again.

We are so sorry beau 😔

  • Day 2

      12 July 2020

Hey guys! Today is day 2 and we are all still very shaken up. Beau has had a good nights sleep so we are please about that.

We are a little concerned for her as her ear is cold to touch and does not move on it’s own. It is slightly weeping healthy looking blood and clear fluid which is a good sign for now but we aren’t too sure if that’s supposed to stop or not ?

Our biggest fear is her getting an infection and going down as we have been told it can happen very quickly!

Tomorrow the vet will let us know if she will keep her ear or not. And then hopefully we can get the ball rolling on some recovery for her!

She is still in a lot of pain as she groans a lot when she is trying to relax and go to sleep. I believe the wound site is clean for now and we have been spraying it with a special antiseptic spray, alongside giving her the medication she was given. She doesn’t like being touched at the moment and the trauma is becoming clearer. She is not the same beau as before , I’m hoping that it is temporary but going to give her all the time and love she needs !
