Kara runs a Marathon for Orange Sky

I'm running the Wellington Marathon on August 30th to raise money and awareness for the charity called Orange Sky which you all know is very dear to my heart.

Orange Sky offers a mobile shower and laundry service to help homeless or otherwise in-need people. Being clean and having clean clothes gives these people back a little of their dignity and helps enhance mana. The most important part of Orange Sky though, is the conversation that happens in the infamous orange chairs. Genuine connections, kindness, and laughter can change the lives of people in the community who may be socially isolated, down on their luck or doing it tough (As a volunteer, those very conversations changed my own life more than I can express).

We could all lose everything in a day, a minute, a moment. These people are us and we are them. I can never pay back the people in my life that helped me become the strong and resilient wahine I am today but I can pay it forward. Please help me make my goal of at least $295 which pays for one whole shift of the Orange Sky van.
