Thames Mountain Bike Club Karaka Trail Dual use MTB/Hiking upgrade

Thames, Waikato

The Thames Mountain Bike Club is undertaking the next stage upgrade of the existing Karaka trail to convert to a dual use Mountain biking and hiking trail. This next stage will open up the trail from the 2nd bridge all the way up to the spectacular "Red Bluff" natural feature allowing MTB users to ride all the way up. Weather delays have brought us more time to fundraise  17 June 2022

Our trail building contractor has been experiencing some really bad weather for the last few months that has caused them many delays. The 1st delays were on the last job prior to ours delaying their start on our project. Once they got into our project, the weather has just continued to rain meaning there have been many days off site. While this is disappointing from a trail progress point of view, the silver lining is that we now have more time to continue our fundraising campaign allowing our givealittle page to be re-opened and there for further donations to be processed.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
