Karen Eastwood Memorial

$5,260 of $5,500 goal
Given by 80 generous donors in 7 weeks

We are fundraising to build a large family picnic table at the top of Lake Pegasus in memory of Karen Eastwood.

Canterbury

We are fundraising to create a memorial for Karen Eastwood after her sudden death last year from Cancer.

Karen left behind her husband Dave and their two young children Mia and Luca. We would love to create a place for her family, and community to remember her.

Karen was very involved in the Pegasus Community and she loved to create opportunities for us to gather and meet and make connections to grow our thriving community.

Karen was an amazing person in this community, as a real estate agent she sold a large majority of us our land and houses here in Pegasus and as a board member of the Woodend-Sefton Community Board she fought hard for the things we wanted and have in our community.

We have had the concept of a large table that will accomodate at least two families to be positioned at the top of the Lake Pegasus near the children's playground, overlooking the lake, beach and bridge.

We have approval from the Woodend-Sefton Community Board already of $2,000 and we need to fundraise an extra $5,500 to cover the rest of the table cost, plants, concrete and a plaque.

We want to create a space that is practical, useful and a place for our community and her family to gather, meet and remember the remarkable woman that she was.

Your contribution in whatever little way you can will create a valuable asset for our community and we will be forever thankful for your contribution.

"Karen was a ray of sunshine in the Pegasus community; a rare person who could energise those around her with her positive attitude and smile. She never backed off advocating for improvements in her district, be they for a safer and faster passage on the state highway or a bmx track for the kids. Even in her dying days she encouraged others to ensure these things happen after she had gone." - Rhonda Mather

"Pegasus Town was her passion she truely believed in the place, the area, the facilities and she saw Bob's vision.

Her favourite places were the lake, the beach and the night sky out there and she was one of Pegasus's biggest advocates.

She believed not only in the place but also in the community, supporting the playgroup, residents evenings, the ladies nights local businesses and was heavily involved with the Residents association - the Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas at the Lake." - Davina Corcoran

Thank you!
