Karen's kick cancer battle

The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise funds so Karen can purchase a wig that she feels comfortable wearing.

Karen found a lump in her neck a few months ago and was subsequently diagnosed with Diffuse B Cell Lymphoma (a form of blood cancer). This means she has just started a five month intensive course of chemotherapy. The good news is her CT scan shows the cancer hasn't spread. However, her treatment means she will lose her hair by Christmas and so needs a wig. The cost of these is high - a synthetic wig costs around $400+ and, in the words of Karen, "looks like a dead animal on my head". Human hair wigs cost around $2,500.

Karen is incredibly strong and she and Brad are really staunch so asking for help isn't in their DNA. But they have always helped others and lots of the community are asking how we can support them through this.

This money will go towards a wig for Karen. Any surplus will be used for treatment and other related costs.
