WHAT IS SCOUT JAMBOREE?

A Jamboree is a large Scout Adventure Camp held every three years at different sites in New Zealand and attended by around 4000 or more Scouts, Leaders and staff. Its open to all Scouts and children will usually only have one opportunity to attend whilst they are a Scout.

Outdoor education camps and programmes are beneficial for everyone, but especially for children. The Jamboree offers children an opportunity to develop social and leadership skills, as well as important life skills that will help them in years to come, all with like-minded Scouts, who they will create lifelong friendships with.

These are just a handful of the benefits for children who attend:

1. It builds skills and confidence

2. It’s good for physical health and emotional wellbeing

3. It promotes creativity & problem solving

4. It teaches responsibility and independence

5. It reduces stress and anxiety

Our vision is to make Scouting adventures like Jamboree more accessible and inclusive to all families at Karori West Scout group and your support will make this a reality.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
