We are super blessed to live in a country such as New Zealand where we have access to food, clean water, shelter, clothing, jobs and more, all of which we often take for granted. Because we are grateful for these things in life we decided we wanted to do our part, although small, to help others who may not have any of these things. We also felt like doing something outrageous! We pondered what could we do that would combine our passion for travel, relating to a purpose that would honour our creator and that also served others in need???...and BOOM! we decided volunteering overseas was the way to go. A couple of months later we chose destination: Kenya and booked in our dates. We opted for working in an orphanage after reading about so many children there who are parentless. Due to the high rate of poverty and illness there, orphanges and childcare centres can host anywhere between 50 to 300 children at any one time. Absolutely heart wrenching stuff. They need all the love, time and care they can get and we are excited to do just that. Any money we can also raise will go a long way in helping these children. Now we know ya'll would love to join us on this adventure but we understand it may not be for everyone or schedules can be challenging with work etc so instead of you physically being there with us, we would greatly, absolutely, thankfully appreciate any donations large or small to contribute to the work we do in Kenya.
