We are running a marathon to raise funds to go towards the operational costs of the MS Society.
Otago
In September we will be running the Dunedin marathon. As two (very) amateur runners, this will be a monumental effort for the both of us. This task gives us an opportunity to fundraise for a cause we believe in, and give back to the community.
We would like to raise money to go towards funding for people in the Otago region with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Some individuals with MS may have to endure periods of deteriorating health, of which a loss of ability to function in daily life is a real possibility. The Otago MS Society is one organisation that seeks to support those with MS in a variety of ways. They aim to empower people with Multiple Sclerosis and their families by providing them with professional support, education, information and skills, to participate actively in the community in ways that are meaningful to them. Fundraising is a crucial part of paving the way to providing the highest quality of services and care possible.
Katreena - Having worked as a physiotherapy student at the University of Otago, I have been inspired by the hard work, resilience, and positive attitudes of those with MS. I would like to help out as much as I can to provide resources to these brave people and their families.
Multiple Scleorosis (MS) is a debilitating disease that has serious impact on those affected and their families. Those with MS often struggle to secure funding for things that enable them to lead a functional lifestyle. Having encountered many brave people with this disease we have been inspired by their strength and resilience, and would like to help support them through their journey.
All money will be donated to the MS Society to go towards operational costs (ensuring members have a place to meet, have access to planned activities, and rooms for physio classes).
Extending page activity 2 September 2018
