Katrina's breast cancer battle has relapsed after a year of remission. Please help us support Katrina for giving her quality of life.
Nationwide
April 2011: Kat was diagnosed with breast cancer 2B at the age of 25. She went through mastectomy, 6 cycles of chemotherapy, 39 sessions of radiation and 18 sessions of Herceptin. It was long and painful treatment process for such a young age. But all through her treatments, Kat has never lost her positive spirit and hope.
January 2014: She got married. It was such an inspiring story of true love in the middle of trials. While we all thought her boyfriend Mark (for 3-years) would choose to leave her because of her condition, he stayed, took care of our Kat, and promised to take care of her, for better or for worse. Everyone in our family were happy to see their love flourish amidst what we thought was their life's biggest storm.
In 2015: By God's grace, after the long and financially draining process, her cancer went on remission after 4 years. Kat was very thankful that time that she finally free from cancer.
December 2015: A few days before Christmas, Kat's mother, my sister Tess (52 years old) suddenly fell ill. We were shocked when we learned that she has Breast CA Stage IV metastasise to her Liver, Bone and Blood. It was a heart-breaking 2015 holiday season for Kat as she witnessed her mom's painful and quick death—passing on just 2-weeks after they discovered her sickness. She passed away in January 2016, survived by her only child Kat. (Kat's father died in his sleep in 1996, when Kat was only 12 years old).
A New Battle (The Cancer Recurred)
2016: Just when she was trying to recover from her mother's sudden death, Kat felt crippling painful back pains and sadly learned that her cancer has recurred. The hardest blow is that it has now metastasised in her bones. She immediately needs undergo 6-sessions of chemotherapy, radiation and Herceptin once again, in order to save her life.
May 2017: After undergoing intensive treatment process Kat’s physical body become deteriorated. The cancer is become more aggressive which is now affected her lungs.
July 2017: She was rushed to the hospital due to difficulty of breathing but after underwent several tests the Doctor told Mark (husband) that they will not go further treating her, may not make any difference to her condition. Kat is now on palliative care. Since there is no hospice in the Philippines. Kat will stay in the hospital. Kat is so blessed to be surrounded by people who loves her. She has high spirits and is spiritually prepared.
I am Katrina's uncle a cancer survivor. I'm involved in this campaign because I would like to help this young couple to ease the burden of exorbitant hospital bills.
I would like to knock on your generous heart if you could help support this young couple. Finances had been exhausted as health care in the Philippines is very costly. A small amount to help this young couple will be much appreciated to cover hospital bills. Thank you very much in advance.
Carolyn Trocio is the auntie of Katrina Pangilinan. Katrina is from Philippines and we are helping the couple to pay the hospital bill and funeral expenses. All proceeds will be sent to Katrina's husband.
Another Angel Called Home! 11 August 2017
It is with great sadness to inform everyone that our beloved Katrina has gone home to be with our Lord on 10th of August 2017. Katrina is a true representation of a true warrior of God. She had expressed her will to fight a good fight of faith. During her last days, she only wished to be with her beloved husband, grandmom and other family. She wanted to hold their hands the whole time. She prepared herself and fully surrendered to our Lord God.
We knock on your doors for your generosity to meet the remaining medical, funeral and burial expenses as we send Katrina to her eternal rest in peace and grace of our Lord. We are hoping to raise the funds within the next couple of weeks. If you are able to give, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to us. If you are unable to give financially, you can still make a difference by sharing this, and of course with prayer. On behalf of the family we thank you all in advance. God bless.
Hi Hannah E, Thank you so much for your generous donation. I would like to inform you that Katrina did not make it. She passed away last 10 August. See update notice. Once again thank you and may God bless you! Kind Regards, Elvis
