Kayla needs our help.

For those of you who know Kayla, you know that she would drop anything to help you if needed. Well now it’s our turn.

On top of recently losing her job in an organisation restructure, having her car off the road and having to be on ACC due to a workplace incident; Kayla has been struggling with an ongoing severe back injury, which has been causing increasing pain (extreme levels) and resulted in a fall the weekend before last.

Because of this, Kayla is currently in Whanganui Hospital. Her condition is at a point where what is left of her L4 L5 and S1 disks have come completely out her vertebrae and have no cushioning at all which is compressing all sorts of nerves. Doctors were amazed that she was walking with what they saw on the MRI.

At this stage they are maintaining medication levels to keep her in as less pain as possible, and are looking at transferring her to Wellington Spinal Unit today (Wednesday 10th July)

Can you help Kayla?

Going forward she will need support around:

• What’s coming in terms of spinal treatment.

• Finances for Jesse (Kayla’s partner) & the kids when they are at home, as well as various other day to day living costs.

• Family accommodation in Wellington as they won’t qualify for Ronald McDonald house etc.

• Car repairs, so it can get back on the road and used to travel to and from Wellington.

• Things that will need to be set up for her eventual return to home.

• Also will need to find rental home that is more accessible and a bond for that.

All of these costs are adding up and we just want to be able to reduce Kayla's stress and anxiety around that, plus support her family through it. Thanks team!
