Help me get a Wahine Medusa tattoo

Hi everyone.

Ok, as you may or may not know, my 40th birthday is coming. I'll be turning the big Four-Zero (40)!

I have a desire for a maori themed Medusa tattoo. She'll have Moko and be wild with pukana and mana.

She'll be holding the head of Perseus. Yes, it'll be an intense piece.

I am Maori. And I would love to feel comfortable receiving moko but at the same time, I'm just not there yet. I may never be there.

What I do know is I am overcoming my trauma and working on survival every day. This tattoo will represent that growth, my connection to my Maori wahine ancestors .. My mother.

I can't know how many of us were sexually abused as children. Me, my mother.. Who else? I can't say.

This tattoo is me taking my power back. Saying 'No' to any man who dares steal from me again.
