Hi, I'm Keegan Miskimmin and I have been selected to represent New Zealand at the World Under 23 Ultimate Championships in London this July
Manawatu / Whanganui
Ultimate disc is an amateur sport in New Zealand. As such, each team member is expected to raise $6,600 each to cover the costs of the campaign. This money covers flights, accommodation and transport to London, as well as tournament fees, uniform costs and travel to training camps before we leave for London in July.
I have now been playing ultimate for just over three years. I am very honoured to have been selected to represent my country at an elite level and have the opportunity to travel overseas and compete on a world stage. Those of you who know me know just how passionate I am about ultimate disc and this is a dream come true.
This campaign will be very tough and something that I am excited to be a part of. It will involve countless hours of training both individually and as a team for the next few months. Trying to balance uni and living away from home on top of all this can be very stressful. With the tournament just around the corner, I will need to dedicate most of my time to training if I want to be my best.
Your contributions will help to lift that stress a little, give me more time for training to make you and this country proud. I can guarantee that any amount pledged will be received with my utmost gratitude.
Thank you for checking out my page and thank you for your support!
Last training camp done and dusted!! 8 June 2015
Hi all, thank you so much for helping me towards my goal. I really appreciate all your efforts!
Last weekend was our last training camp in New Zealand before we head over in a months time to compete with the world best. Up in Auckland for two days we focused on some important defensive structures that we were able to successfully implement in our showcase game against an Auckland all-star team with a convincing win.
We lost to the same team last month at our second training camp, so it was good to get revenge, and a win under our belt before we head over to compete against all the other international teams was satisfying too.
We managed to gel really well as a team and it was exciting to see everything come together that we have been working so hard towards.
Here's a photo of me officially receiving my New Zealand ultimate uniform - and I couldn't be prouder. I can't wait to wear it in London come competition time.
Once again, thank you all for your support so far. Please don't hesitate to share my page to your friend's and family, and remember that every dollar counts! :)
The official website is where you will be able to keep up to date with all of our scores and standings - fingers crossed we get a live stream game too: http://wu23uc2015.com/ !
If you want to just be kept up to date with our teams on fb, here's a link for that too: https://www.facebook.com/pages/New-Zealand-U23-Ultimate-Teams/424718750954904?fref=ts
That's all from me for now :)
