UPDATE UPDATE. The amazing Graeme from Mobility Equipment Wanganui has just given me the best Christmas ever!! Even tho we still have $1400 to go he wanted to get me up & mobile. So he has dropped off the scooter so I can get going, whilst we are still trying to raise the rest of the $$$$. So if you see me out n about on "Betsy" don't be afraid to wave. My friend Rachael is an amazing, awesome person, who doesn't seem to let her illness/disability get her down at all! She is one of the brightest, funniest, fiercest, happiest people I know! The things that make her happy are simple - being able to attend her kids rugby, netball, and hockey games, and getting herself around town independently. A mobility scooter would make this all SOOOOOO much easier to do. Her wheelchair just can't keep up with her lifestyle :-)

She is also a very modest, humble person who is highly embarrassed to be asking for your help. She loves to give, but feels uncomfortable receiving. I've told her to get over that ;-)

The lovely Graeme at Mobility Equipment Wanganui has offered Rach a brand new scooter for $5000! That is a discount of $900 and he is also willing to give us time to raise the money - thank you so much Graeme!

Please help! Rach doesn't qualify for ACC or Disability Allowance :-(
