    Thank you for your awesome donations to help clear the slip at the Wairoa Gorge Bike Park.

    We have managed to get the initial slip cleared and get the volunteer cars out (thanks to Asphalt & General Co and HiReach Access Solutions ). Unfortunately we didn't reach our target for fundraising and the road is 4WD access only at this stage. The shuttle road and ford still have work required. We're now in "discussions" (begging and pleading) with local and national government authorities to help to ensure that the access is more secure for the future!

    In the meantime, we hope to be ready to go for the new season, which starts on 4 September - so make your booking now and support this iconic and very special bike park. See you there!

  • Thanks to Asphalt & General Co our goal is reduced

    After an incredible effort this weekend, Asphalt & General Co donated their diggers and experts to start clearing the major slip. As a result we have been able to reduce our target. Thank you Asphalt & General Co!!

  • We've made a start!

    After a geotech assessment indicated we could start clearing the slip, the amazing team at Asphalt & General Co have worked during the weekend to try to get access to the park. They've achieved an incredible amount already and the volunteer cars are out! Thank you!! Now we have 4WD access, we've been able to assess the rest of the park and have discovered more slips on the shuttle road, and the ford across the Wairoa River have a big hole in it - so keep the donations coming - we still have work to do!! Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far!
