My name is Keira Batten Coogan, I’m a Musician in Wellington saving for top surgery.
Since pursuing transition and going on T my quality of life has improved immeasurably.
I have been transitioning long enough now to know exactly how I feel and what I want. I am very happy and grateful to have made it to where i’m at, and top surgery is the last step towards finally being able to truly live inside of my own body.
As a trans person I have spent a lot of my life waiting to be able to actually live it - Top surgery (no matter how far in the future) will allow me to fully settle into my body and live as myself.

Thank you for coming to An Octave Down! 23 July 2025
Thank you to everyone who has donated both to this page and by being there and supporting my fundraiser gig last month. An Octave Down was such a wonderful event and i’m so beyond grateful for all the support I had all the way through putting it together. We raised over $2000!!! (which is safely put away, just not in this page so as to avoid the top up fee). I am so thankful to everyone who helped me with this in any and every way, and feel so lucky to have been able to put it on. No doubt there will be another soon… stay tuned!!!
