Never giving up on an impossible dream. Earning the Fern.

International

Kia ora I'm Kelsey Randrup,

Some may know me from triNZ, as a sports coach, a health worker/ speech & language therapist, or as a sportswoman.

When I was a 4 year old I dreamed of representing my country as an All Black. Until my brother told me I couldn't be one so I decided to try some other sports. I represented the regions I lived in, in Basketball, Volleyball, Netball, Athletics, and Swimming. Many times, getting closer to National Representation but something always came up that would keep me from reaching the fern! It remained a goal of mine to play with the silver fern on my chest.

Little did I know it would take me till I was 28, after 3 leg surgeries to get there. Today where I can say I will be representing New Zealand in Fistball at the World Games.

It hasn't been an easy road, and after my most recent surgery, I had been told that I'd never play sport again. I had to test myself mentally and physically. Rehab has been character-building. At the end of 2021, I trained to run a half marathon, and just 5 months after not being able to run more than 2mins without pain... I did it!! I knew I could do anything I set my mind to. I thank God for the hard road.

I'm looking forward to doing this for me, the blood, sweat, pain, tears, joy, elation, have come hand in hand. Thank you to those who have supported me and encouraged me. Thank you to those who know my sports journey, and thank you to those who will help me achieve a goal I have worked towards for 24 years.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
