Please help to support Anna and Ken while Ken is in recovery from his stroke.
Auckland
On the 2nd of October 2019 Ken Lever had a severe stroke in Miranda and was taken by ambulance to Middlemore Hospital. He originally lost all speech and movement down his left side. He has regained most of his movement, however his speech was majorly affected. He will be needing daily rehab to learn how to talk again for the foreseeable future.
As a self employed painter, he has been unable to work due to the severity of the stroke. He is currently in rehab but is unable to claim any form of benefit as his wife, a nurse "earns too much". But not enough to manage or pay the mortgage. We hope he will be able to work in the future, but at present Ken gets easily exhausted.
Anna and Ken have been unable to return to their home they love so much permanently due to distance from rehab and Anna's work. While the mortgage payments keep ticking, they are staying at Anna's sister and brother in law's house.
Any help would be much appreciated to support our beloved Anna and Ken.
PLEASE DO NOT TELL ANNA OR KEN AS THEY ARE FEELING VERY BURDENING ON EVERYONE AS IS.
This page is set up on behalf of Nicci (Anna's sister) and Ken and Anna's children, Ruby, Alice, Clair and Caitlin. It will be used to support Anna and Ken, in Kens recovery.
As Ken will be stopping work for the coming year (if not stop indefinitely), finances are stretched. With a mortgage owing on their dream house, we'd like to help them continue living there on 1 income.
