Kia Kaha Box provides gift boxes to women in refuge's due to being victims of domestic violence.

Latest statistics show that on average, every night, 201 women and children needed a safe space to sleep, as one in three women in New Zealand will experience domestic violence and abuse, causing many of them to have to flee their homes for the safety of both them and their children.

Majority of these women would have left everything behind; they won’t have any home comforts or anything that is theirs.

The Kia Kaha Box has been designed to bring a little bit of joy back with an added bit of love and happiness, with gift boxes being distributed around safe houses and refuge’s in New Zealand.

Each box contains items similar to the below:

- Toiletries/hair accessories

- Reading book

- Puzzle/colouring book and pencils

- Journal/diary and stationery

- Socks

- Mugs

- Candles

- Jewellery

- Affirmation cards/prints

Monies raised will be used for the cost of the boxes, marketing and any shipping costs incurred.

- Do you have a local business that could donate any of the above items?

- Organise an event or fundraiser for the Kia Kaha Box

- Donate any of the above items that you may have a surplus of at home
