Help more kids feel safe at school by preventing bullying

Kids can't learn if they don't feel safe. Please help more tamariki feel safe and happy by preventing school bullying, through KiVa.

Nationwide

At least 1 in 4 tamariki and rangatahi in Aotearoa are harmed by school bullying. Bullying disrupts learning, damages mental health, and erodes the sense of belonging every child needs to thrive.

Our charitable trust addresses the proverbial 'elephant in the room' by helping schools implement KiVa, a world-leading bullying prevention programme that is proven to reduce the incidence of bullying and victimisation in NZ schools. *NZ KiVa Schools student survey results 2014-2024

Through KiVa, tamariki learn lifelong skills to stand up for themselves and others; Teachers are provided with practical tools and support to foster inclusive, pro-social classrooms; building safer, more compassionate school cultures rooted in respect and empathy.

But right now, only 2% of schools across the motu are currently using KiVa and benefitting from the positive impact - we need to reach more tamariki, more rangatahi, more kaiako, more schools. With your help, we can achieve this.

This month, we’re celebrating 10 years of KiVa in Aotearoa. We have a decade of local student data showing consistent, measurable impact. Schools using KiVa report on average, a 23% drop in bullying within the first year.* Help us celebrate 10 years of impact by ensuring we reach kids across Aotearoa. Please donate and share.

Every dollar raised helps us reach more schools with an evidence-based, proven approach to reduce bullying and support more tamariki to feel safe, connected, and able to learn.

About us
