10 days in ICU and Kieran hasn't shown alot of big improvements. CT scans and x-rays show some of the inflammation has reduced but still a long way to go. It doesn't look like he will be moved to a ward anytime soon so unfortunately the no extra visitors has to continue so we are able to he with him. The tube put in to drain the excess air from around his left lung has definitely cleared some of it but now his right lung has shown the same issues and he has had to have another tube put in to help drain it and help the lung reinflate. Kieran was also started on a new medication that isn't actually for his type of illness but it has been tried and was successful for a 13 year old who had the exact same thing as Kieran so fingers crossed it works for him too. Once again a huge thank you to everyone for donating ❤️❤️❤️ Niki, Kieran and Maddie

Kieran has been in Dunedin ICU for 6 days now, they are aiming to get him moved to a ward as soon as they are confident he is stable enough and the nurses in the ward are confident they can give him the care he requires etc. His recent CT scan has shown some small improvements to the lungs in general but not enough to be able to get back to Invercargill. The hole in Kieran's lung has caused his lung to collapse a bit so today they have inserted a tube in to help reinflate it which should make him feel a little bit better. They have also said there is still a chance of being transferred to Auckland if needed but they will make that decision as and when needed. At this stage we are very uncertain about how long we will be here but the doctors seem to think he will still be here next week so I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has donated as this definitely helps relieve some financial strains that have come with all of this. ❤️❤️❤️
