To help our son recover from a fire that destroy 95% of his belongings, clothing, furniture and personnel items.
Wellington
On Sunday the 24th March 2019 a fire started in the neighboring flat above the Devyish Superette and spread across to my sons flat.
A pictured taken of the fire in the window, shown in media releases, was of his room, which is the flat/building next door.
That was my sons room and showed his chest of draws on fire, losing all this clothing apart from what he was wearing.
The roof has collapsed into his room as well.
He was home at the time, off work sick with a sore stomach and once alerted to the smoke and fire next door quickly left his flat.
He then watched as the fired destroy his possession and the fire service put the fire out.
We turned up later, as we traveled 3 hours to get there and found him in agonizing stomach pain and took him to the hospital. By 11pm they had decided it was his appendix, but couldn't operate until morning as no theaters where available but when they did operate they found his appendix had burst.
He has been in hospital since and with no insurance, this adverse life changing event, has affected his health greatly.
Medical expenses post hospital are not free - Prescriptions, Follow up Doctors appointments, Wound dressing changes, any rehabilitation required eg Physiotherapy.
