Great news, Kim arrived home last Wednesday!!

So pleased to tell you all that she has her mobility back and is walking with only the aid of one crutch.

This was only possible due to her motivation and hard work and the amazing support of the wonderful team at Burwood Hospital.

This will be the last update before we close the page on Saturday, so just want to thank everyone for the kind wishes and generous donations which were so appreciated. Kim’s children were able to travel to Christchurch and spend time with their Mum and help her with her recovery on two occasions thanks to your generosity.

There is still a long road ahead for Kims recovery but she is positive and just so grateful to have her mobility back and be home with her loved ones ❤️

Thanks again, your support really did help 😊

  • Week 8 of Kim’s journey

It has now been 8 weeks since Kim was rushed into emergency surgery for collapsed discs in her spine. Less than a month at Burwood spinal unit and she is making great progress. She still has a lot of numbness but her positivity and determination is pushing her through and she is getting some mobility back, she is now able to walk on the low walking frame (I will try and post a video) Kim is really happy with the progress she is making. She had a surprise visit from her sister Ange last week and has been spending lots of time having pats and cuddles with the hospital cat. Of course she is missing the kids but her room is now decorated with lots of pictures and cards from them and other well wishers. Keep up the great work Kim, you truly are amazing 🤩 ❤️🏆

  • The kids have been to visit Mum

      5 February 2023

Joel and the kids have made the trip to Christchurch and spent the weekend with Kim at Burwood. Ariana and Dre’s first time on an airplane and they were super excited!! (The smiles say it all 😃) They have all been having a fantastic time with their Mum, helping her with her Physio and spending lots of family time together 😊 This would not have been possible without all the generous donations as the flights for just the 3 kids were over $1500, so we will continue to keep the page going so they can have more trips down to visit their Mum. Please check out the recent photos and we will continue to update you all with Kim’s progress over the weeks 🏆

    Hello everyone from Burwood,

I'd love to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all your kind words and support, it means the world to me and my family to know how kind our friends, family and community is. People who don't even know me has blown my mind at how thoughtful and caring you are, I appreciate it more than you will know, that goes for everyone!

I will somehow pay it forward as you all so kindly have!

Kim has now been transferred to Burwood in Christchurch. Rehabilitation begins!!

Kim and her family are overwhelmed by all the support, kind messages and donations from everyone.

Her family are really eager to be there with her as much as they can so we will continue to fundraise to help pay for flights and accomodation.
