A family who have lost so much since Feb 22 2011. Only to be hit with another sever blow on March 31st. Kiri was told she has cancer.
Canterbury
This family needs our help. They lost there home in the Earthquake in Christchurch on 22nd of Feb 2011. Kiri has lost both her parents in 6 years and has no siblings. Then eventually built a home in Kaikoura and had an issue with the company who built there home so it took longer than expected. Causing the family to struggle with renting and mortgage payments while there new home issues were sorted. They brought a business that in the end they had to close it due to money owed to them. The family uplifted from kaikoura and returned to Christchurch. Where they rent a home, then yes another Earthquake this time in Kaikoura. Yes where they had built there new home , even tho the home wasnt damaged, who would buy it now. Another drama. Kiri and her partner Grant then decide no matter how hard it was going to be to leave his family the decision was made for him to head to Aussie to work to get them back on there feet. He left the beginning of March saying goodbye to Kiri, her daughter Savannah and there children Kiarn 10 and Artesia 8. All looked good ,he got a job and Kiri and the kids started to get used to him being away. Grant had been in Australia for two weeks when Kiri got up one morning and had terrible pains. She eventually took herself to emergency room. Tests were done and then while there on her own was told you have cancer , there's no treatment and its terminal. Grant receives that news by phone in Australia miles from anywhere and like Kiri there life's are in turmoil. Grant panicing to get home to his family and Kiri goodness no what she was feeling. Grant returned home and now the family want to spend as much time as they have together filling Kiri s bucket list eg trip to Auckland with her family and to see Fiordland ect. The Family really thought they could manage and didn't want to take people's money. After thinking about it and realising that time doesn't stand still and they don't have long it was agreed to let me setup a page. But to be real this family deserve and need our help to enjoy each others company and make special memories for the children for the future that they will face missing someone very important to them. Please help me to help them. Kiri hasn't been given long on paper and has bowel cancer which spread to her liver. Her liver is completely destroyed. She struggles with everyday life now. Grant has to work so they have an income. There 10 year old son has stepped up on his own, grant gets the meal ready Kiarn is cooking it after school as Grant is at work. Life for this family is shattered and changed so much. They need our help so they can enjoy the short time they all have left. Kiri was given 3 to 8 months in March. To top off the list at the end of April Kiri and Grant were given 42 days notice to move from there rental property in Christchurch. Another drama they really didn't need right now. Grant has to work to pay rent and feed his family in the meantime struggles with knowing he should be home with his family. But there is no other option but for him to work. I Love my family so much and hope that with your help we will be able to help them out financially so if Kiri is real sick and Grant needs to stay home they will have some money to support them.
I'm Grants sister and I want to help them where I can . They deserve to have some happiness in there life no matter how short that may be.I also want to help Kiri do what she wants to do with her family before its to late. Also would be nice for her and Grant to see the support that's around them.
Funds will be used to fill her bucket list and make some amazing memories for her partner and children, support the family with all the costs involved with the changes in there life now and later. I know Kiri was hoping that she would be able to buy a home in Christchurch for her family and at least get to go into the home. So tough on a family facing all they are.
