Life Education Counties Manukau provides children with the knowledge to make positive choices about their health.
Auckland
This year we will visit 32,000 children age 5-13 across Counties Manukau, using our unique mobile classroom’s stimulating learning environment to capture children’s imagination & always with the help of Harold the Giraffe. Life Education’s work enhances the quality of children's lives, with the purpose of educating and empowering children to make healthy decisions so they can live their lives to the fullest. Our programme focuses on prevention and children who experience our lessons gain knowledge and skills in a range of areas including: self-esteem, social relationships, food and nutrition, body systems & substances (for intermediate students). These can be discussed in the form of 60 ‘big questions’ & be combined to suit the school’s topic of inquiry & make the lessons more student centered. Every lesson is planned to suit particular age groups & with annual visits, this information is retained, built upon & used by our students as they grow.
Life Education Counties Manukau teaches preventative health messages to over 32,000 children & youth age 5- 13 in their schools every year. Our aim is to educate & empower children to make healthy choices to enable them to live healthy and happy lives.
