Hope comes in a bowl of hot borsch. Help us deliver hot meals to Ukraine
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
I am Harriet Campbell, a baker from Tauranga and ex-owner of the Falls Cafe. Together with my partner, Jason Zan, we have formed Never Alone - Humanitarian Kitchen for Ukraine.
Our mission is to provide hot meals to frontline villages and give Ukrainians living on the edge of war a moment of respite.
After spending a collective ten and a half months in Ukraine since the beginning of the full scale invasion, we now have the contacts and knowledge to effectively and efficiently carry out this mission.
My previous work inside Ukraine has been predominantly focused on animal rescue, and I have worked in multiple animal shelters across the country. I have also used my professional background of cooking and food preparation to help in kitchens that produce meals for soldiers and civilians.
Jason's previous work inside Ukraine has been predominantly focused on humanitarian aid and military support while also utilizing his professional background in archeology and drone imaging. Jason has also worked in animal rescue and provided assistance to multiple animal welfare organizations in Ukraine.
Together, we will combine our knowledge, passion and personal skills to provide hot, nutritious and delicious meals for $1.50 per person, and bring some hope to those who desperately need it.
All money raised will go towards funding our food delivery vehicle and purchasing ingredients and basic kitchen equipment.
No donations will go towards personal expenses, so you can be confident that your donation will directly help the people of Ukraine
Overwhelming Support 19 April 2024
I could never put into words how grateful I am for these donations. I have tried again and again to think of something that would convey how I feel but everything just feels insignificant in comparison to how much this means to me.
Jason and I had a mission and we were going to try to pull it off the best we could, but because of you we can now do more than we ever dared to hope. Overnight, so many barriers and problems that we were facing just melted away simply because New Zealand is filled with unbelievably generous people.
From myself in Tauranga and Jason in Oklahoma, thank you.
You are helping in an incredible way! Thank you for such a generous donation
