A fundraiser to help Marlon get to Europe for his studies
Kelburn, Wellington
Hi there,
I am a young clarinetist who has been accepted into the prestigious music school Kunstuniveritat in Graz, Austria. This page was created to fund my travel and education expenses for next year in Europe.
Here is a bit about me:
Marlon Sullivan is a talented clarinettist studying under Pat Barry, Principal Clarinet of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Originally from Auckland, Marlon is now studying at the New Zealand School of Music. He has been awarded the Tangawai Scholarship at Victoria Uni, multiple awards including the Gold Award and People’s Choice Award at the CMNZ Chamber Music Competition and Dux Cantorum of St Peter’s College. Outside of his university studies, where he has been Principal Clarinet for the NZSM Orchestra, Marlon performs with orchestras including as Principal Clarinet of the Hawkes Bay Orchestra, the Wellington Youth Orchestra and the Auckland Youth Orchestra. He has been taught by international clarinettists including Joze Kotar, Franklin Cohen and Annelien Van Wauwe in masterclasses.
The funds will contribute to living expenses, flights, and instrument cost in Austria.
Thank you very much, much appreciated!
