Supporting kiwi mum of 3 to becoming a World Masters Athletics Champion!
Wigram, Christchurch
After spending most of my 20's unhealthy, unfit and in pain, whilst also struggling with anxiety and post-natal depression, at 32, after having 3 kids, I decided enough was enough and I committed to doing something about my health.
Five years on, my passion for health and fitness has resulted in my becoming a qualified Personal Trainer, breaking a number of NZ and Oceania Masters Athletics records and now following my own dream to represent New Zealand by competing on the world stage as a Masters track and field athlete. Hopefully becoming a World Champion!
I had been training for the Covid cancelled World Champs in 2020, and now with travel opening up again I am now training hard in the lead up to the 2022 World Masters Athletics Championships in Finland June 29th-July 9th.
From current entries, I have a world ranking in my age grade (35-40) of #2 in the Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump and 100m Hurdles and #8 in the 100m and 200m.
I hope to medal in Finland in multiple events and win a title or two!
I leave NZ on the 20th June, travelling first to Norway, then onto Finland 27th June.
Competition runs 29th-9th July.
Travel home 10th July (arriving 12th).
This will be longest time and distance I have ever been from my husband and young family!
Entry fees, accommodation (10 nights Norway, 13 nights Finland), travel insurance, domestic travel within Norway/Finland. Air travel of $4000 I have already paid from personal savings.
3 more sleeps 27 June 2022
Thank you again everyone, I can't express strongly enough what your support means. I've been in Europe 5 nights now and feeling fresh and adapted to the time difference. Today I'm leaving Norway and heading to Finland, with 3 more sleeps until my first event. The weather has been fantastic and in looking forward to some great racing weather!
Thank you again and I'll keep you updated on how I go 😊
Thank you soo much Aaron!! I really appreciate this! It's an honor to work with you!
