Hope comes in a bowl of hot borscht
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
I am Harriet Campbell, a baker from Tauranga and ex-owner of the Falls Cafe. Together with my partner, Jason Zan, we have formed the Never Alone Project.
Our mission is to provide not only hot meals to front line villages, but also humanitarian aid to Ukrainians living on the edge of war.
After spending a collective eleven and a half months volunteering in Ukraine since the beginning of the full scale invasion, Jason and I now have the contacts and knowledge to effectively and efficiently carry out this mission.
We have developed a menu plan that can provide nutritious meals for $1.50 person and, with the recourse and connections we have made, we can assist communities we visit with any further aid they may require.
We have both used our professional skills and passions to offer support in many different areas of operation. This has include civilian and military assistance and animal welfare.
Together we have already provided humanitarian aid, care for abandoned animals, and lifesaving equipment for frontline defenders, including
- 3 ambulances
- 160 tourniquets
- 200 IFAKS
- 2 drone jammers
- Two palettes of emergency rations to Bakhmut
- Power banks to trenches near Robotyne
- Winter clothing to Kherson
- Medical supplies to Zaporizhzhia
- Groceries and supplies to refugee shelters
- Food and medicine to animal shelters
- Christmas gifts and a holiday music performance for an orphanage
With a bit of help we can achieve so much more to those who so desperately need it.
All funds will towards buy aid for civilians and soldiers. This will include food aid, generators and power banks, medical and veterinary supplies as well as medical evacuation vehicles for the military.
No funds raised will be used for personal expenses
Hot meals and aid delivered! 21 September 2024
It has been a busy first month for us in Ukraine! We have already supplied about 450 hot meals to areas in need and delivered equipment including generators, power stations and winter thermals to the men defending Ukraine. But this is just the start! We have many more food deliveries lined up. We have seen the impact of our work here already, even though we have only just got things off the ground. New Zealand, you have made a difference to lives very far away from you. I am proud to call myself a Kiwi. Anyone who wishes to know more about what we are up to then please check out Facebook or send us a message on neveralone.ua@gmail.com
Thank you for your incredible donation! We were driving back from feeding a village that had been terribly damaged but the war when I saw your donation come in. You just funded another couple food deliveries so thank you!
Thank you! We can feed 80 people a very nice meal for $100 so your donation just allowed us to make an entire frontline village very happy!
