Help get Kids to KiwiChat Camp

    The Merino Muster Cross Country ski race is getting closer and with that in mind Ann has been doing some training. She completed 2 x 2 hour skis over the race course last weekend. Ann is also working in Central Otago and Southland at the moment and has been talking to some of the teams who are interested in attending KiwiChat Camp. The logistics of getting to KiwiChat Camp from the bottom of the South Island is daunting but the interest from the teams supporting these students is fantastic. One such student is Hudson. Hudson lives in Bluff and has been to KiwiChat Camp before. He uses both a High Tech Eye Gaze communication device and a low tech PODD book. Both these systems take time to master and seeing other students using similar systems is a great way to learn. Hudson and his mum Chris are keen to attend KiwiChat again as they see this as an opportunity to meet with other students using similar systems as well as have five days of fun packed activities to help develop Hudsonfs use of the communication tools he is currently mastering. By sponsoring Ann to complete the Merino Muster we can help Hudson and other students attend KiwiChat Camp.

  • The aftermath of the mud run

    WOW - We are so overwhelmed by all the support we've received for our Mud Run efforts. The TalkLink Upper North Island Team took to Woodhill Sands on Saturday 6th July and climbed in, on, over and through a LOT of mud. It was great fun and definitely worth it after raising close to $2000 for our cause Kiwi Chat Camp. A huge thank-you to all of those who have donated so far, we are incredibly grateful.   • Quiz Night

    Enter details of your update here Well it is Monday and we have finished counting up the money raised from our Quiz night on Friday 28th June. A huge thank you to all of those who came and parted with their hard earned cash. We managed to raise close to $1400 on the night - FANTASTIC! We still have a long way to go but what a great way to start! Only 5 more sleeps before 10 of us will be dashing across the start line at WoodHill in Auckland to raise even more money. We are so close to $1000 lets see if we can't get there before Friday! There will be 10 very cold, very muddy TalkLinkers by Saturday lunchtime but if we can raise enough money then it will all be worth it!     Happy Friday everyone! Well the date is getting nearer and nearer to the Tough Guy Tough Gal challenge for the Auckland team. We are so pleased with the fundraising effort so far - $700 is a great start! A few of the team are a bit worried about getting covered in mud and how we will all manage to get around the obstacles...any tips out there for us? Some of the TalkLink Team have been in training whilst the rest of us might be broken for work on Monday 8th July!! All the TalkLink Team have been working hard to put together clients names so we can start inviting people to camp. We can't wait to share our 2014 theme with everyone! We all want to say a huge thank you to all those who have donated it has been really great. Can we get to $2000?? Keep donating and spreading the word! All the best from The TalkLink Team
