Help keep the Kiwifolk website and nz-folk listserver up and running as a service to the NZ folk scene.
Otago
The long-running Kiwifolk website and nz-folk listserver was established by Mike Moroney in 1993 (back when the web was text-only!). What started as a hobby has become the definitive resource for the NZ folk music scene and for local and international artists wishing to tour clubs and festivals.
Mike has funded the presence and maintenance from his own pocket for over 20 years but now costs have risen to a point that some assistance is required - hopefully from those who value these resources.
Mike is the owner and sole administrator of the Kiwifolk websites and nz-folk listserver. All funds raised will be applied directly to hosting costs and updating of the website.
Mike has been a key person in the New Zealand folk music scene for over 30 years, both as a musician and a club and festival organiser. Mike established the Kiwifolk website in the very early days of the World Wide Web, and has maintained it as the go-to resource for local and international acts wishing to tour New Zealand or any other interested person wishing to explore the NZ folk scene.
In addition Mike has run an old-fashioned email list-server (nz-folk@kiwifolk.com) since 1993, which has become a much loved resource for the NZ folk community the world over.
