Koha and Love for Tim on His End of Life Journey

  • Awesome news!!

      23 April 2025

Sorry I haven't updated lately but we were waiting for the results of Tim's latest MRI scan. The new is overwhelmingly good. All the spots in his brain have gone except for one on the area where Tim had his operation. The doctor said this is one of the rarest cases he has seen in terms of a cure. He thinks it was the B Raff drugs that your wonderful donations helped us fund that have done the job. They will give Tim a scan every couple of months just to keep an eye on him and have reduced all his drugs so he can get back to a normal life.

Our whole whanau are soooo thankful to you all for your kind thoughts and donations.

  • Second Chance

      11 March 2025

Today Tim and I went to Bowen Hospital in Wellington to discuss a new treatment with his first melanoma specialist - Katherine Barrow. The very encouraging news is that she is prepared to give Tim a new round of drugs that have had fantastic results in brain melanoma in Australia. We will have to go private for it all - but thanks to your generous donations we have the initial money for all the consultations and a scan to help us decide the way forward. She thought Tim was quite well enough to handle the treatment so we are very positive for the future. For those that are interested here is the Australian youtube clip about the drugs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFRAswSWYf0

      Lovely Cass.

Much love to you both and your whanau.

If it suits when the time comes we can come up to see Tim this coming Saturday but if that will tire him too much before your big drive up to Pauanui we'll come after you get back. We're very flexible - the main thing is that a visit from us works well for Tim so please don't hesitate to suggest what would be best, Liz (Cell: 0272303312)

Thankyou for the updates 😊 It's great to hear about the adventure you've been on and that the adjustment in meds was a good one. Thinking of you Tim and sending all those positive vibes out for you. Blessings and aroha to you and your whānau, much love Debz and Mafua ✨️✌️💕

      Hi dear Tim and Cass

So sorry you haven't heard from us for a time - we were away overseas, mostly in Europe, for a month (Tau co-presenting at a conference in Bern) but back now and I was just about to contact you when I saw this update.

It looks as if you're in a beautiful place by the sea - so great you bought that caravan.

We'd love to come and see you when that suits - if you are home in the week or two after New Year and there's a day that looks as if it might work, let us know. We totally get that if we settle on what looks to be a good day, the best thing would still be to check with you early that morning to make sure Tim feels up to a visit that day.

Sending our love and support, Liz and Tau xx

Hi everyone. Just an update to say that the B Raff tablets have not worked so Tim has stopped taking them and is now under the Hospice for palliative care. He is now on steroids and is feeling good at the moment. We have done a couple of trips with the caravan and will take each day as it comes. Thank you all for your kind donations and messages. Aroha from Tim and whanau.

Thanks to your wonderful and generous donations Tim has received and started on his new drugs. We hope the side effects are not too much and he gets a little more time on them.

  • Feeling Good

      5 August 2024

Firstly thank you so so much to everyone that has donated to Tim. We appreciate this so much. The money donated is enough to pay for one months drugs which are 5.5K a month.

Tim is feeling good at the moment as they have given him some drugs to decrease the swelling in the tumours in his brain. We are starting on the new drugs this week and will keep you up dated.
