Koha for Kat - Stage 3 Breast Cancer Journey

On Friday the 13th September 2019 Katrina was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, she was in and out of hospital to appointments and trying to come up with the best treatment plan. At this point Katrina continued to work her job as waikato's sale rep for Bidfresh Hamilton as best she could. She has the most amazing sales team at Bidfresh behind her and goes above and beyond for her customers. She has her Zumba family and all her beautiful friends looking out for her but some days are harder than others.

Katrina had Surgery in October 2019, which all went well with negative results for lymnodes but was waiting on further results.

5 weeks post op Katrina decided to take a break from any further treatment for two weeks to just enjoy a bit of summer with her daughter, her work and her customers and then planned to start her further treatments at the end of December.

"Be kind to yourself be patient with yourself your body is a beautiful thing and I’m learning that my body is actually very strong".

On the 17th of December Katrina started her first treatment of AC chemo this is the first part of her treatment. The next part of treatment that followed was 12 weeks of single chemo weekly. Her normal has completely changed she can’t do many of the things she used to be able to do. She has had many ups and many downs and many days just thought about stoping. She has now lost all her hair and has more scars to follow. But if you know Katrina, you know she doesn't give up easily.

"I’m looking forward to the things we take advantage of like going back to my work capacity, going back to Zumba, hanging out with my friends and loved ones and just living.

My rehabilitation will start soon. Be grateful for what you actually do have.

Stop bitching about what you think you are owed in life and what you don’t have cause trust me one day that could all change!!"

Katrina's treatments are still on going and with sickness and colds and colder weather coming it’s very important that she isolates herself best she can. She have NO immune system and her body can not fight off a common cold and it’s likely to put her in hospital.

"I will not be offend if you can’t come near me or tel me. Same with my daughter it would break my heart to send her away if she gets sick just so I don’t."
