Kia ora whanau 24 July 2018
Kia ora whanau..Well alot has happened since the last update..River has had surgery where 2/3rds of her liver was removed..This was a success!!! During her recovery her port, which is what they give her chemo and IV medicines through became infected so weve had to get that removed and are now just waiting to get another line put in so that hopefully we can get the 1st of her last lot of chemo b4 the end of the month...This has put us back a few steps with our journey to get home but thats ok..these things happen..She has 3 more treatments of chemo left..These are just to ensure that if anything was left behind the chemo will kill it...These treatments will be 3-4 weeks apart and will be given over 3 days..Hopefully in between we will be able to go back to Gisborne and stay and travel back for her next treatment..This depends on how well she reacts to the chemo..So at the moment whanau that is where we are at..The light at the end of the tunnel is gradually getting closer...All your koha helps us tremendously and we are very grateful...Arohanui❤❤❤
