Lyric Waipare Rawiri - Josephs
Saturday July 8th
Lyric was just starting out on her own, moving out of home with her boyfriend, after always living with her mum and dad, she just started a new job in Auckland which she was so over the moon about, shes starting to spread her wings and find her place in this big world, and making things happen for herself, shes such a beautiful, funny, loving human, we her whanau/family all love her so much it hurts.
Sunday July 9th
Lyric experiences a really bad allergic reaction, C.P.R is given until medics arrive, but the brain is starved from oxygen for an amount of time unknown.
Her parents, nanas, uncles, aunties, and cousins arrive at the hospital with heavy hearts, and sadness, hoping and praying for some sort of recovery.
Monday July 10th
Lyric had organized a surprise birthday bbq for her mum, and had invited family over to her new place one of many to have.
The only thing her mum wants is for her baby to wake up.
Monday July 24st
Its been
16 Days since she has been in an induced coma.
16 Days of not knowing if shes going to get well.
16 Days of hoping, praying and keeping the faith.
16 Days today our 19 year old niece Lyric suffered an allergic reaction to peanuts
These past days have been very hard, emotionally & Mentally, for our sister Paula Rawiri and her partner Jason Josephs, Lyric is their only child, and this is such a horrible dream that we keep waking up to.
Being the loving and caring parents they are, the only place they want to be is by her side.
Jason has three weeks off without pay, as he has no leave owing to him at his full time employment.
Paula who has just started at her new job 9 weeks ago, has had to go back to work on sunday 16th july otherwise face being replaced, as she has no entitlement. She works part-time 4 days on 3 days off.
Its been hard for Paula having to go back to work even if its four days a week, it seems like a lifetime for those days to finish just so that she can be at the hospital.
At the moment things are touch and go with lyric, the doctors are slowly reducing her doses so they can monitor how she copes.
We have been told that there has been some damage to her brain but to what extent they are unsure, only time will tell
Recovery will take months, possibly the rest of the year and will continue after that.
Our Sister has decided that if a little help can go her way to help pay her rent for the next three months she will give up her job to be with her baby every single day.
Paula is a loving and caring person, shes is the one that makes up the excuses to have a get together she has all the ideas, she puts sports teams together into week end events for netball/softball teams are made up of sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, friends and even nannies sometimes. she always goes that extra mile for her family & friends if you are blessed to have paula in your lives you know what i mean.
We Paula's Siblings are hoping that, Give A Little Page and to all that has read our plea, will help us help our sister in this time.
I'm involved because, i am one of Paula's oldest sisters Michele, due to discussion with our other siblings brother Marshall, sister Kimiora and younger sister Tayla this is some sort of way to help our sister be where she needs and wants to be and that is with her daughter, if we can help her in this way then we can concentrate on helping her deal with staying positive and believing in brighter days.
Funds raised will be put towards help paying rent in advance and cost of travel to and from Auckland hospital everyday, this will enable Paula to give up work to be by her daughters side.
