Please help us care for our special 5 year old Kororia - Rose who is fighting for her life with AVM known as ' Bleed' in the Brain..
Auckland
On the morning of January 3rd, 2022, 5 year old Kororia – Rose collapsed at home and was rushed unconscious to the hospital emergency department. Initial scans revealed a ‘AVM - bleed’ in her brain Then again on the 3rd of February while in hospital she had another bleed. Both bleeds were substantial and each time she required emergency surgery to save her life.
Kororia – Rose has been diagnosed with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM). AVM is an abnormal tangle of blood vessels in the brain or spine. Some AVMs have no specific symptoms and little or no risk to one’s life or health, while others cause severe and devastating effects when they bleed. Treatment options range from conservative watching to aggressive surgery, depending on the type, symptoms, and location of the AVM. People are born with AVM - it is rare and affects about one in 100,000 people.
Despite the physical and emotional effects of AVM Kororia – Rose exudes maturity, resilience and strength far beyond her 5 years. It is these characteristics that encourages us her family, friends, and others to do whatever we can for her now and in the future with her recovery and rehabilitation.
Kororia - Rose and family will keep everyone up to date as she battles AVM.

I am Kororia - Rose great grandmother and her mother grandmother. Whanau and people who know us will know we share a unique bond of love. And will understand why her mother has asked for donations to be deposited into a bank account under my name.
The emotional, mental and financial pressure on Kororia- Rose mum, nana and family is huge. They have limited resources. Mum and nana do not work and are using a borrowed car.
We would be grateful for any donations given to help our very special girl.
