    Kia Ora whānau and friends,

Aroha mai for the delay in update, been a bit busy with uni and other things but also didn't want to finally update until all bills were confirmed.

Kōwhai's bill's came to a total of $593. With the donations more than covering these costs, i have decided to donate some of the remaining amount to our lovely Bearded Dragon Hub Facebook page (who supported Kōwhai since the first day i got her) and our local SPCA to help with the animals there.

Missing my girl so much, still feels weird without her. Will never forget the memories we made in the time i had her.

Thank you all for making it possible to help my girl as much as i could and for being there for me in the process. I am so very grateful.

    Aroha mutunga kore Kōwhai

    Ngā mihi,

    Maia + Kōwhai xxx

    Kia Ora whānau and friends.

Thank you for all your mihi aroha about my girl.

Kōwhai's vet bills came up to a total of $583.40.

As you know we didn't quite make it to Massey Vets in time for them to help us with my girl. She had passed on before we got there :( so we weren't charged for anything on their end.

Due to the amount raised being higher than the vet costs and travel costs, if you would like a refund of your donation, please email helpdesk@givealittle.co.nz by Friday March 12th 5:00 pm.

My girl is now resting in the sunniest spot of the whare where she can still enjoy the sun and hang out with our kuri <3 We have also planted a Kōwhai tree on top of her in her remembrance. She is no longer in pain and is probably eating all the crickets she can get!

    Love my girl <3

    Ngā mihi,

    Maia + Kōwhai

Thank you all so much for your donations and mihi aroha for me and my girl. I have no words to express how grateful I am.

I’m currently sitting in the lobby at Massey Vets waiting for them to give my baby back and take her home.

Unfortunately Kōwhai has gained her angel wings and joined Koha, Jessie and Jack on the other side. There was nothing we could’ve done to save her in the end 💔 she did have a faint heartbeat when we pulled up but apparently reptiles do that for a while after they pass on.

I’m going to take her to the rose gardens here in Palmy for some time together before we head back home.

If you are thinking about or know someone who is thinking about owning a reptile please take the time to do your research and make sure you have the right husbandry for them especially when babies as this is crucial for them and may prevent future issues like this.

    I’m so sorry Kōwhai

Moe mai rā I tō moenga roa my darling 💛💛💛

    Aroha mutunga kore,

    Māia + Kōwhai

Kia Ora whānau and friends! Wow!

Thank you so much for everybody's aroha, I am yet to respond individually. Kōwhai and I really appreciate it!

She seems to be doing a bit better and more alert. Vet says she moves her head when they walk past and is being a little less dark. Still trying to figure things out. We plan on picking her up tomorrow evening and taking her out to Massey Vets in Palmerston North on Friday. I will update again once i know more <3

I'm writing to let you know that the amazing donations have more than covered her standing balance of $438.09 for the Vet so far but we are still waiting for an Invoice from Massey Vets.

We won't really know more until she gets seen on Friday.

    Awhi mai, awhi atu

    Māia + Kōwhai
