Help Kuda Kick Cancer Into Remission

  • Not good news

Sadly a couple of weeks ago we noticed Kudas lymphnodes were swollen again and the vet confirmed his lymphoma is back.

Really disappointing and upsetting as he only finished treatment a couple months prior, we were really hoping it would give him another year or so.

We had a few options, go through the 6month chemo again, go through a less intense treatment plan, or do nothing.

Considering that the lymphoma came back after 2 months, we didn't think spending thousands on chemo again was a good option, the less intense treatment plan fell into the same thought train - lots of money for a very uncertain gain and stress for Kuda.

So we have decided to enjoy our time with Kuda and he is taking some medication that will ease his symptoms and give him a wee bit longer with us. There is only so much treatment can do, we feel we have made the best decision for him, it wasn't an easy One!

He is getting lots of cuddles, special treatment and pats galore. ❤❤

Hi Jess i an so shocked at what has happened to Kuda. I feel for you, coz its hard. I think you made the right decision. I agree it was not as easy decision. I am pleased that you had some quality time with Kuda before passed away.

I know coz I had been through a similar experience with my dog Jade.

She was 17years months when she passed away.

I have photos of Jade on my bedroom wall. So I can see her all the time and talk

      to her

I hope you are okay.Take care.

Kuda has completed his treatment, and has come out the other end well. So we cross our fingers and hope that it stays away for a long time!!

  • Kuda is in REMISSION

Received some exciting news a few weeks ago (sorry for the delayed update!!.... It's been hectic) BUT our Kuda is in remission which is wonderful news!

This means his lymphnodes have reduced down to normal size and his bloods are keeping at good levels.

    Yay!!

Kuda can still come out of remission during treatment so we won't celebrate until the end. Treatment must continue through the whole protocol to ensure that all the bad cells are killed off. After that, we have to cross everything that it stays away for a long time.

Kuda had the first of 3 'big' treatments last Monday. He was hooked up to the IV machine and had a series of drugs run through. The vet nurse sat with him for around an hour and a half for this treatment.

Kuda was well behaved and did t need sweating which was good. He would have just been happy to have someone sit and cuddle him for that length of time!

Kuda was lethargic a couple of days afterwards but has since bounced back to himself.

The vet said his lymphnodes are almost back at normal size already 😱 the full course of treatment must be continued to completely kick it in the butt.

Treatment 3 of 25 done this afternoon.

Swelling is going down and lymphnodes are getting smaller, so it's a good sign he is responding to treatment yay!!

Still a long road ahead but it's a good start.

If you wanted to help out towards his treatment, the link is below. Every little bit helps 🙏🙏
