Christchurch needs a labyrinth, now that the memorial one has been demolished, and I want to purchase a portable canvas one.
Christchurch, Canterbury
A labyrinth is a pattern that you walk, to help with mindfulness, personal wellbeing and spiritual growth. Many cities have a labyrinth for their people, and also schools, hospitals, churches, universities and libraries.
There used to be a brick Labyrinth at the old St Luke's site in Christchurch, made by the Student Volunteer Army from bricks saved from the demolished church.
The white chair memorial for people who died in the earthquakes was on the same site.
I restored that labyrinth, and facilitated regular walks for a couple of years.
I now would like to purchase a portable canvas labyrinth that can be taken to different locations, so that a wider range of people can have an opportunity to walk the labyrinth. It could be taken to schools, rest homes, churches, and even festivals.
A number of people have said that they would like to contribute towards this, and I have a dedicated bank account for donations.
I am a Certified Labyrinth Facilitator with Veriditas, and belong to a number of international labyrinth organisations, and participate in teaching.
I welcome involvement from others who would like to help arrange and facilitate labyrinth walks here in Christchurch, and I think it will become a useful offering for our community.
Purchase a portable canvas labyrinth from Veriditas, to be taken to various venues, and be used for the people of Christchurch.
