Lads running Rotorua Marathon to raise funds for Gisborne / Wairoa Flood Victims

  • $520.20 raised for the Flood Victims of Gisborne and Wairoa

      20 May 2023

Thank you all for your support for our cause, and for our run! These funds we have raised will be transferred to the Opotiki Lions Club (James is the President) and given to Lions Clubs in the areas of Gisborne and Wairoa to pass on to those victims badly affected by the terrible flooding from Cyclone Gabrielle.

    Cheers,

    The Lads

  • Lads Run strong races - Marathon Completed

      8 May 2023
    Main image

The Lads, Hemi and James both completed their Rotorua Marathon on Saturday the 8th of May. Hemi ran his first ever Marathon in a cracking time of 3hrs and 44 minutes. Placing 182/797. What an amazing effort for his first ever race.

James ran a stellar race too, completing his 46th Rotorua Marathon in a fabulous time of 5hrs and 21 minutes, placing 442/797 - absolutely amazing for a 73 year old who has a pace maker for his heart.

Thank you all for your support for the Gisborne / Wairoa regions.

And also a huge shout out to Michelle at Opotiki Signs and Embroidiery for the awesome supporter tees, and for the lads tops too.

This page will be open for a few more days for any further donations.

    Cheers, James and Hemi

Some edits for the above - James' overall placing was 614/797, and he was the 442nd male home. Also date was 6th May (not the 8th). Page is open until Friday 12th May for any further contributions or support. Thank you.
