Lake Taupo Hospice delivers quality palliative care and family support to members of our community who have received a terminal diagnosis. This extensive wrap around service is completely free-of-charge and aims to empower patients to “live every moment”. Put simply, they are there for us and our whanau when we need them most.
As a charity organisation, Lake Taupo Hospice must raise over $1,000,000 a year in order to deliver its services free of charge. With record patient numbers and now the covid-19 lockdown, this has become increasingly difficult. Since the lockdown, the closure of the retail stores, the cancellation of events and the inability to fundraise have had a devastating impact on their finances.
They are a locally based charity, caring for the Lake Taupo community. Even the smallest of donations can make a huge difference to their patient’s lives.
About us
Ours is a philosophy of care for people of all ages and any life limiting illness. Our focus is on living every moment and we care for the whole person, not just the physical, but also emotional, spiritual and social needs. We never lose sight of the person behind the illness.
Use of funds
Funds raised will go towards caring for patients and providing support for their families.
