Why was the community not consulted on this ?
Will be contacting Taupo District Council, Enviroment Waikato with some concerns over this.
I not opposed to the safety around the ramp etc But i feel you going to create more safety issues

Hi Alan, Please call me on 021 378 825. This was an initiative put forward by the community. The council held two meetings last year and invited the Mangakino community to attend. At the meeting this was put forward as one of the main concerns and something that everyone at the meeting felt would be of great benefit to the safety of the pontoon. The council was looking to add this to their 10 year plan however as a group at the meeting we felt it required more urgent attention so that is why we have raised funds for it.
