We are a group of people who care about Mangakino and the lake. We have set up this page to help build or create projects to help Lake Maraetai and the Mangakino community. In the interests of safety this Summer we would love to get a floating boardwalk out to the pontoon for the swimmers. If we have anything left over we would also put in a floating fun activity for everyone. Our aim is to keep everyone safe by not having swimmers jump off the current boat jetty and dive under the water where boats coming in can not see them.

Use of funds
We would like to buy a boardwalk to connect the pontoon to the bank. This way swimmers can walk out to the pontoon to jump off. It also creates a fun swim zone for everyone. Our aim is to keep all swimmers safe this summer by keeping them away from the boat jetty where they cannot be seen at times by the boats.

Re-opening the page 4 December 2017
We are re-opening the page as we have not yet raised enough to buy the boardwalk. We require another $2300 to be able to finish off the project.
We have been lucky enough thanks to Del Shaw to be able to source the floating boardwalk at $6000 which is great as our first quote was around $10,000 - Our aim is to get this in before the end of January so if you have not yet brought your block on the boardwalk then please donate to keep the swimmers safe this Summer
