Lambchop took a fall approximately 3.5 months ago and as a result requires surgery to fix her leg. Please help Lambchop get her swag back!
Auckland
We are a small family and were so excited to get our new family member, she was such a cool little puppy and my daughter said 'she has swag'..
I wasn't really sure what that was but I liked to think it was the little wiggle she did as she ran. Unfortunately after a fall Lambchop can't walk very far or run due to damaging the growth plate in her knee.
I am not sure of all the technical terms but the orthopedic specialist explained it to me like this "Lambchop damaged her growth plate in her knee and then when her legs have grown they have grown at an uneven rate and caused her left back knee joint to sit at a 50 degree angle rather than a 30 degree angle as it should. When she puts pressure on her leg, her thigh bone is slipping down and causing her pain"
Lambchop is very lame on her leg but we are holding out as long as we can because of funds but also because she needs to grow as much as possible before they do corrective surgery.
I have attached an estimate of Lamchop's surgery and we will be trying to pay for hydrotherapy as well due to her muscle deteriorating at a very fast pace. We already incurred approximately $1000 worth of bills for second opinions, xrays, specialists and medications. We have always had a weekly payment set up at the vet but unfortunately that is all gone now so we are appealing for help.
For every $100 donated I will do an hour at the SPCA or any other animal rescue organization that would like my help (I have done rescue work myself for years).
The good news is, originally we were told both knees would need surgery but it is only one now... we are already thankful our girl only needs one surgery and not two as well as a bill of approx $3500 rather than $7000.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I am Lambchops owner, my family have encouraged me to set up this page for Lambchop as there are people out there that want to help including them. I am desperately looking for full time work as my previous work place has closed its doors leaving me without work.
I am now in this unforeseen situation despite having a weekly payment to the vet to try and prevent this kind of thing, sometimes life throws you that little more to deal with that you didn't consider but I hold hope my poor girl will get her surgery.
