Fundraising to get Lara a wheelchair accessible vehicle

Lara is a mum in her 30s living with Muscular Dystrophy. She is a solo mum of an amazing little 7 year old. Many think that New Zealand looks after our disabled whānua but the reality is very little support is available. Lara can not access any funding for a wheelchair accessible vehicle, so she is mainly stuck at home with her daughter. There are very few accessible taxis in Mosgiel and the cost is prohibitive even with the subsidy. Lara can’t take her daughter to sports, parties and the normal childhood activities we all take for granted. They both deserve the freedom to get out and enjoy life together.

An accessible vehicle for Lara. If we can’t fund a vehicle Lara will get the money to help pay for taxis so she can still leave the house.

Hope everybody had an amazing Christmas and new years. Been quiet lately I do apologise so much going on and with Xmas 🎅 it all just flew by. Over the December period has an amazing couple track me down and wanted to pick me and the cause for there donation box they hold at there Christmas house 🏠 of course I was speechless and absolutely over the moon to be thought of and for them to open there home to so many people to go through and look at there absolutely amazing decorations if you had the chance to check it out and made donation I thank you so much 😊 and from all the people who donated they had made just over $4500 towards my much needed vehicle and that was just amazing I didn’t expect that at all so again speechless phone call with I just can’t thank people enough it dosnt feel enough.

So again THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU 🙏 there is light at end this loooong tunnel.
