Fundraising to get Lara a wheelchair accessible vehicle
Mosgiel, Otago
Lara is a mum in her 30s living with Muscular Dystrophy. She is a solo mum of an amazing little 7 year old. Many think that New Zealand looks after our disabled whānua but the reality is very little support is available. Lara can not access any funding for a wheelchair accessible vehicle, so she is mainly stuck at home with her daughter. There are very few accessible taxis in Mosgiel and the cost is prohibitive even with the subsidy. Lara can’t take her daughter to sports, parties and the normal childhood activities we all take for granted. They both deserve the freedom to get out and enjoy life together.

An accessible vehicle for Lara. If we can’t fund a vehicle Lara will get the money to help pay for taxis so she can still leave the house.

Massive Thank You 🙏 22 June 2024
Massive huge thanks to all who took there time to come to the Quiz night we had - apart from the weather not being best it was a great suprise for me to see so many people there to support me and my daughter. Also thank you to business for there donations that are still coming in also for the night - but also there is a Facebook page where you will find a lot of these amazing businesses auctioning of for my cause. It was a successful night raising just over $1000 towards my vehicle. One again thank you thank you thank you 🙏 from bottom of my heart. - Lara xx
