Latham kicks Lymphoma's ass!

$18,464 donated
Given by 156 generous donors in one year

Latham has been diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma. Your generosity helps his parents, Hayden and Alesha, kick it to touch with him!

Waikato

Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago, Latham's parents, Hayden & Alesha, came across a large lump in Latham's groin. After immediately taking him to the doctor, it was then diagnosed as a hernia and a referral was made to get it looked at with surgery to fix it.

However, upon arrival to Waikato Hospital, Hayden & Alesha was informed that Latham did not have a hernia, and in fact was his lymph nodes. After scans, bloods and X-Rays they were informed that the lymph nodes in his groin and abdomen were extremely inflamed and that it was in all probability cancerous and lymphoma.

After being immediately transferred to Starship, Latham has had a biopsy and they received a final diagnosis of Burkitt Lymphoma. This is an extremely aggressive and fast growing form of Lymphoma... however good news is that it has a great cure rate!

It looks to be that Latham has around 4-5 months of some fairly aggressive chemotherapy ahead of him with most of this time spent up at Starship.

As you can imagine, whilst we are all devastated at what is ahead of Latham, this is all just a blip in the road and Latham will kick Lymphoma's ass!

The Begovich family definitely don't expect you to donate, this is for all the people asking how they can contribute to get Latham and his family through this.

Use of funds

The donations will be used to help keep Hayden, Alesha and his sister Eden close to Latham and provide for other costs to help along the journey such as supplements, organic food & other bits and pieces to make hospital time more bearable.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
