Help me empower women and young mothers in Arusha, Tanzania.
International
Kia ora! My name is Laura, and I am an international student at Drexel University, currently studying Photography and Global Studies. I was recently accepted into a volunteer program run by Love Volunteers, specifically a program in which I will be helping women and children in Arusha, Tanzania for 6 weeks over my Summer break.
Ever since I was young, I have been passionate about helping others. After participating in organizations such as Amnesty International and World Vision in high school, my perspectives regarding the world were changed. It made me want to visit the areas that we learnt about, which can now become a reality.
During this program I will participate in a variety of roles, including childcare, activity organization, education, and overall support for women and young mothers. It is a chance to provide opportunities that these women might not usually have, and set them up for a bright future. While I am there I will be staying in a guest house with other volunteers like myself.
